Welcome to Lhasa
The tour guide in Kathmandu will accompany you in the morning to board a vehicle that will take you to the Nepal-China border. You will arrive in the Nepalese border town of Rasuwa Gadi, after a seven-hour trip of 130 kilometers, where you will wait for the admission into Tibet the following day. The beautiful snow-capped peaks and forests in the southern foothills of the Himalayas can be seen along the sometimes-rough road from Kathmandu to the border.

Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
The tour begins at the sacred Potala Palace, erected in the seventh century by the great Tibetan king Songtzen Gampo. The current one was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It became known as the “Winter Palace” by 1750, when the 7th Dalai Lama created Norbulingka Park as his summer retreat. After lunch, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, which is located in Lhasa’s ancient town. This temple was built by King Songtzen Gampo in the middle of the seventh century A.D. It is now considered Tibet’s most sacred location. Pilgrims from all around Tibet visit here to offer their respects. Visit Barkhore Street in the evenings.

Namtso Lake, Yangpachen
Day excursion to Namtso Lake via Yangpachen Hot Springs. You will have the opportunity to visit the Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges and cross the Nagela. Namtso Lake is the sky lake, one of Tibet’s three holy lakes, and the highest salt lake. You may take a short hike around. On the way back, you can enjoy a hot spring at Yangbachen (fee required).

Lake Draksum-tso, Tsodzong Monaery
After breakfast, go from Lhasa to Nyingchi. You will cross Mila Pass and enjoy the landscape along the Niyang River. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Draksum-tso, also known as Basum-tso. The lake and its surroundings are gorgeous, and the location is also associated with Guru Rinpoche, the semi-mythical ruler of the Kham region. Take a ferry journey off the lake’s southern shore to visit the Tsodzong Monatery, which is undoubtedly the site’s most popular feature. Overnight at Bayi Town.

Lulang Forest
Drive to the Ancient Cypress Forests, where you will also have the opportunity to observe Lulang Forest, located far from the Lulang Sightseeing Plate. In the afternoon, drive back to Lhasa.

Norbulingka Park,Drepung Monastery
Drepung Monastery is visited during a full-day sightseeing tour. “Drepung” in Tibetan means “hill of rice,” and this white monastery resembles a large hill of rice. This monastery, which spans 150,000 square meters and houses 7700 lamas, is Asia’s largest. After that, you will go to Norbulingka Park. The 7th Dalai Lama established the first residence here in 1752, allowing successive Dalai Lamas to conduct political and religious activities throughout the summer months.

Yamdrok-tso Lake, Pelkor Chode Monastery
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Gyantse. En route, you’ll ascend to the peak of the Kamba-la pass (4794m), offering breathtaking vistas of Yamdrok-tso Lake. Revered as one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, Yamdrok mesmerizes with its tranquil beauty. Upon reaching Gyantse, visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery, also known as Kumbum. Founded in 1418, this monastery is renowned for its magnificent Kumbum Chode, a stupa adorned with an impressive array of 10,000 images. Later, proceed to Shigatse, continuing your journey through the awe-inspiring landscapes of Tibet.
