Lhasa, or “La” for short, is the capital of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region and an international tourist destination with plateau and ethnic characteristics. Tibet is a political, economic, cultural, and religious center, as well as a Tibetan Buddhist holy region. Lhasa, at 3650 meters, is located in the center of the Tibet Plateau on the north side of the Himalayas. It is situated on the valley plain in the middle sections of the Lhasa River, a tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River.
