Welcome to Nyingchi
The guide will pick up you from the airport.
Drive to visit Lulang forest in the Nyingchi prefecture of the Tibet autonomous region is known as a “Mini Switzerland” due to its idyllic scenery and similar high altitude. In the latest group of photos filed by CRI reporters on location in Tibet, Lulang is seen with its alluring scenery and tranquil atmosphere.

Draksum-tso, Tsodzong Monatery
After breakfast, drive from Nyingchi to Lhasa. On the journey, you will cross Mila Pass and enjoy the panorama along the Niyang River. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Draksum-tso (also known as Lake Basum-tso). The lake and its surroundings are magnificent, and the spot is associated with Guru Rinpoche, the semi-mythical ruler of the Kham region. Take a ferry ride off the lake’s southern shore to visit the Tsodzong Monatery, which is likely the site’s most popular feature.

Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple
The tour begins at the sacred Potala Palace, erected in the seventh century by the great Tibetan king Songtzen Gampo. The current one was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It became known as the “Winter Palace” by 1750, when the 7th Dalai Lama created Norbulingka Park as his summer retreat. After lunch, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, which is located in Lhasa’s ancient town. This temple was built by King Songtzen Gampo in the middle of the seventh century A.D. It is now considered Tibet’s most sacred location. Pilgrims from all around Tibet visit here to offer their respects. Visit Barkhore Street in the evenings.

Yamdrok
Drive to Gyantse after breakfast. The peak of the Kamba-la pass (4794m) offers a stunning view of Yamdrok-tso Lake. Yamdrok is one of the three holy lakes of Tibet. When you arrive in Gyantse, Later, I moved to Lhasa.
